With workmanlike precision, Lloyd James reads Heinlein's creepy science fiction novel about "slugs from outer space." At key points throughout the U.S., an invasion force takes over communications, government, industry and, most importantly, people's minds and bodies. Can Sam Cavanaugh, a can-do intelligence officer, stop this invasion? James's voice helps build the drama, tension and suspense near the end of the tale; but overall, his performance is low-key and understated.
