A RANGER RIDES TO TOWN

These dramatizations of short stories are consistently outstanding, with believable back ground sounds and appropriate musical punctuation. Whoever cast these programs is highly skilled, with actors perfectly picked for believable vocal characterizations. The programs sound like old-time network radio, stories of the Old West that would hold up against the classic radio dramas of yesteryear. (They're that good.) As for the stories themselves, they range from shoot-'em-up sagas ("A Ranger Rides to Town") to character studies ("War Party," a particularly moving tale).
