A REPORTER'S LIFE

by | Read by Barrett Whitener

Biography & Memoir • 16.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1996

No, Walter Cronkite didn't narrate this book, and yes, his presence is missed. Barrett Whitener, in an unenviable position, does a good job reading the author's memoirs. Whitener reads a bit fast at the outset, but once he settles down, he reads with an informative, reportorial tone, more a tribute than an imitation. Whitener is somber when discussing JFK's death and balances that with irony and joviality when relating some of Cronkite's humorous recollections. This audiobook will provide hours of entertainment and information to anyone interested in one of the last half-century's most influential people.
