Eight comedic short stories taped at live performances make delightful road reading. Although neither the selections nor the narrators are uniformly excellent, all, at least, are very good. At Phyllis Newman's rendition of Groucho Marx's letter to Warner Brothers the audience roared, I roared and even the narrator roared. Understanding the value of live performances truly enhances the text. Some narrators don't distinguish well among characters, some don't use full voice technique, and some do.
