SHADOW BABY

Two girls, adopted into very different situations, in very different times, share a need to know their biological mothers. Phyllida Law has a rich, full voice with a broad range. The stories proceed in parallel, but there's no confusion or difficulty for the listener in keeping the characters and plots straight. Law's accents, inflection and tone make it clear throughout which story is in focus. She plays on her characters' contrasts in personality and manner so that they remain vivid and distinct as the events and emotions shape their lives.
