When radio producer Allie McGuffey decides to pick up a guy in a bar, she has no idea she’s just hit on her new DJ, Charlie Tenniel. In the story, a 1990s vintage Harlequin Temptation, Charlie is billed as having a seductive voice, but Aimee Jolson’s rendition falls short as it lacks emotion. In addition, she portrays the self-sufficient Allie with such a deep voice that it makes it hard to distinguish between Allie and Charlie in the sections of dialogue. However, Charlie isn’t at the radio station just to be a DJ; he’s also investigating a mysterious letter sent to the station owner. As the story develops, it becomes clear that Jolson’s forte is narrating the mystery and suspense rather than depicting the developing romance.
