THE SOCCER WAR

by | Read by Geoffrey Howard

History • 7.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1986,1990

Kapuscinski was a Polish journalist who covered Central America and Africa during the tumultuous post-colonial times of the 1960's and 1970's. These are his memoirs. Howard reads this account of Kapuscinski's life (and near death) during those revolutionary times with a thick Polish accent, making the reader think that the author himself is reading the work. Howard deftly handles the many names and non-English words. However, the reading is overly dramatic and seems too fast at times. M.L.C. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/JUL 99]
