STARSTRUCK

Listeners should be warned that STARSTRUCK is a swashbuckling feminist joyride, a comedic space opera that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Fans of THE HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY and Firesign Theater will love this crazy audiobook, which can get a bit silly. The full cast of more than two dozen actors is to be commended for this performance about a group of spacewomen who are trying to stop a nasty female pirate from committing a nefarious deed. The special effects are a constant barrage of beeps and klaxons offset by “funny voices” that can be a bit annoying. Listeners who go along for the ride won’t be disappointed as long as they know what to expect: a raucous comedy that breaks all the rules.
