FASTER PASTOR

After a handsome race-car driver literally crashes into the funeral of a longtime NASCAR fan in a Tennessee town, he’s sentenced to train several local pastors, including one who charms snakes and one who talks to angels, to drive stock cars so they can compete in a race for a multimillion-dollar prize. Narrator Susan Bennett is clearly having fun as she milks the story’s humor for all it’s worth. She provides distinct Southern voices for the quirky characters and uses a light touch on the novel’s romance and Southern wisdom.
