Penn takes us to the perfect setting for a very English mystery, a Cotswold village where the first victim is a Catholic priest. Most of the characters are interesting and unique, but unfortunately the text rambles in places. Narrator John keeps the listener tuned in with his melodious delivery, especially of the narrative He also does well in presenting the characters, who are mostly from the medical and church worlds (both fertile ground for murderous behavior). Cozy mystery fans will enjoy this journey with Detective Superintendent Tansey as he tries to find the killer from a surprisingly large number of suspects.
