Clark's first two published stories, written in the fifties, draw from her career as a Pan-American Flight attendant to create romance, mystery and intrigue in the skies. Reader Jan Maxwell depicts guttural Eastern Bloc accents, so familiar from the Cold War era, with strong male tones, while portraying the heroine as charming and feminine. Tension builds as vocal tones quicken with increased suspense. Each story draws to a satisfying close. An excellent listen for short commutes.
