Founder and longtime editor of SPITBALL: THE LITERARY BASEBALL MAGAZINE, Shannon offers more than 150 of the "greatest true baseball stories ever told." All the stories involve the great and the not-so-great on and off the field. Patrick Cullen reads the stories well enough. Almost too well, at times. His diction is occasionally a bit too precise for tales told by athletes who, especially in the past, were not always known for their articulation.
