THE SOUL COLLECTORS

Regina Reagan’s crisp voice, which evokes a tone of “no funny business,” is perfectly suited to delivering this thriller. Darby McCormick is at the center of a story of torture and child abduction. Reagan plays the supporting characters—the FBI goons, the lovable retired cop, Darby’s love interest, Coop, and the clueless Secret Service—as Darby sees them by lowering her pitch and adding some tonal changes and accents. She also handles Darby’s athleticism and shrewdness with skill. Several of the male characters display a bit more emotionalism than one might expect, which Reagan handles with elan.
