THE TOUCH

Paul Michael’s solemn voice conveys the emotional conflicts of Dr. Andrew Jones and the complex, intelligent character of Dr. Lara Blair. When Jones fails to surgically save his fiancée’s life after a car crash, he fears he’s lost “the touch”—until he falls in love with Blair, a biomedical engineering laboratory owner with a personal motive for getting Jones to perform a delicate brain operation. Michael provides credible Italian and Appalachian accents and perceptively delivers the poignant dialogue. However, his weighty voice sometimes doesn’t sound authentically female.
