THE TIDES OF MAINE

by | Read by Walter Adey, et al.

Contemporary Culture • .5 hr. • Audio Program • ©

Breaking waves and shrieking gulls set the scene for this audio experience. The live recording of a trip from Virginia to the islands of Casco Bay, Maine, is reminiscent of the narrative portion of PBS's NATURE. A thought intrudes: "Where's the picture?" Our narrator/announcer is of the "gee-whiz" variety, happily exclaiming over surging seas, howling winds and the beauty of landfall at Jewell Island. In between, the biologists discuss the management of our ecosystem. It's rather specialized fare--suitable for school or other educational programs concerned with the relationship between earth and sea. S.B.S. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN 96]
