TRADE WIND

It must take gumption to go before a microphone with a romantic epic full of larger-than-life characters, derring-do and exotic locales. Kate Reading delivers it up to the listener with aplomb. She's at her best with dialogue, giving individuality to more than a dozen principals of both genders and many nationalities. While extended narrative passages sometimes get a little rushed and mechanical, her tone subtly conveys that nobody is to take this extravagant story seriously.
