The reading by Davidson is sonorous and evocative, capturing the authors’ rapture with animalia and anger against human arrogance. Scholarly and comprehensive, this collection will please animal lovers, amateur ethnologists and antivivisectionists. Human chauvinists are advised to stand clear.
