Ironman champion Chrissie Wellington grows up in England and finds herself, overcoming an eating disorder, working with the U.N. Summit, and traveling the world. Welllington’s story culminates with her phenomenal success in the sport of triathlon. She details her achievements swimming, biking, and running, but it’s her amazing devotion to training that gets her to the finish line. Polly Lee narrates with a clear voice, one that is almost solely Wellington’s throughout the book. Lee is consistent, pleasant sounding, and never overly emotional. As narrator, she’s as focused as Wellington is in the water, on the road, or during training. Wellington herself delivers the epilogue, which gives another human touch to this story.
