THE WHOLE SHEBANG A-State-of-the-Universe(s) Report

Beginning with the ancients and progressing to our current understanding of cosmology, Ferris presents an overview of how the universe works that will appeal to the interested layman. Ferris, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, reads his own work. One may be reminded of James Burke's style of delivery--somewhat understated with a wry twist of humor from time to time. Reading like the experienced lecturer he is, Ferris expresses himself well and knows how to keep his presentation from falling into a monotone.
