When reporter Liam Mulligan uncovers two grisly murders in Newport, Rhode Island, that both involve sex, religion, and child pornography, they prove strangely connected. In a pleasant East Coast accent, Jeff Woodman delivers a colorful investigation that eventually leads to the governor’s mansion. Woodman authentically renders the not-so-subtle interview with the governor, who promises Liam free sex with hookers if he ignores his findings and threatens a severe beating if he does not. DeSilva's strong characterizations of street thugs are not for the squeamish; gutter language and gruesome crime scenes leave little to the imagination.
