While enjoying a Dufris presentation, listeners must remind themselves that this is one actor, not a troop. Dufris has a vast repertoire of voices, and each dramatizes Max Brand's characters expertly. Whether it's the young adventurer, Les Tarron, or the seasoned stranger, Doran, each is given a unique, distinctive voice, using accents, pacing, and volume. Bored at home on the ranch with his family, Les sets off on his magnificent gray horse to hunt a stranger, Doran; after Doran's death, he then struggles to find the "city in the sky."
