"Guitar-pickin" intros and the rusty-sounding voice of Jim Gough add drama and atmosphere to this wild and woolly tale of a cattle drive from Texas to the Black Hills. Gough, who is called "Mr. Texas" for his drawl, has been heard on numerous radio and TV commercials. Unusual on a trail drive are the women, who help with the cooking and doctoring, as well as riding herd. Gough does an exceptional job portraying them as well as Nelson Story, a Montana rancher and leader of one drive, and Benton McCaleb, a Wyoming rancher and leader of a rival herd.
