RIP-OFF!

Thirteen authors, eight narrators—this themed anthology has something for everyone. Each author, from Elizabeth Bear to John Scalzi, uses a famous opening line from a classic work of fiction to spur an original short story. Each story is introduced by its author, who gives its history or other interesting facts. Not all writers are good speakers, so some fare better than others. Narration is equally diverse; longtime narrators Scott Brick and Stefan Rudnicki rub elbows with "Star Trek" alum Wil Wheaton and five others. The varied narrators mean that there’s no common delivery style, but it's safe to say that everyone involved was having fun. Performances range from dead-serious to camp.
