CUBA

by | Read by Michael Prichard

Mystery & Suspense • 18 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1999

This political thriller set in the near future traces events in Cuba following the death of Fidel Castro. A ruthless military man takes control, with potentially dire consequences for both the small island and the United States. Michael Prichard tackles the novel; as a reader he is competent and unemotional, rather than dramatic. His style makes CUBA slow going at first, as a large cast of characters is introduced with little in his voice to distinguish them. When the story and characters became more familiar, however, his reading style proves to be unobtrusive and goes well with Stephen Coonts's plot.
