When author and poet Jess Kirkman returns home to North Carolina to visit his ailing mother, he investigates his family's past and comes to understand more about himself and his relations then he ever imagined possible. Tom Stechschulte affably narrates the wanderings of Jess as he meanders from past to present along the countryside, meeting neighbors with intriguing stories.
