BREMEN TOWN MUSICIANS

by | Read by Bob Hoskins

Storytelling • 45 min. • Audio Program • ©

The old blue dog and the shaky cat join forces with the cocky rooster and the aged donkey on their way to join the band in Bremen town. Practicing their tunes and challenging the robbers they meet may not make for perfect harmony, but this musical story will delight young listeners. The wordplay will amuse those slightly older. Storyteller Bob Hoskins obviously delights in the language of the tale which is surprisingly subtle despite the cacophony. The music-only side highlights individual instruments and offers good opportunities for identifying their sounds. R.F.W. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JAN 95]
