THE DARWIN ELEVATOR

Humanity is literally hanging by a thread in this first book of the Dire Earth Cycle. So it's a good thing that award-winning narrator Simon Vance and his plethora of accents are on hand to give earthy voice to a motley assortment of characters. Thanks to an alien race called The Builders, these humans must live within a small plague-suppressing zone near Darwin, Australia--or risk becoming savage subhumans. As the safe area deteriorates, factions blame each other for the crisis. It falls on scavenger Skyler Luiken and scientist Tania Sharma to find a solution before these internecine struggles doom everyone.
