His story, set in San Francisco in the near future, involves an epidemic and a mystery, both woven around a strange environment. Tabori delivers the dramatic scenes with conviction and switches to the tone of a detached storyteller for depictions of the medico-terrorists. As Tabori depicts the various characters involved in Carlucci’s investigation of the horror, his voice and the richly detailed dialogue make them discernible to listeners.
