SLOW DANCE WITH THE PLANET

Todd S. Jarrell and his brother spent 20 months at sea as part of the amateur crew of the Picton Castle, a sailing ship on a global voyage. During the voyage, Jarrell recorded thematic essays, backed up with music and sounds of the people and places he visited for Nashville radio station WPLN. Jarrell creates a sense of the sailor’s life, both the exotic locations, like Melbourne, Australia, and Bora Bora, and the mundane aspects like mail call and the pursuit of a rat. The music and on-site recordings make this truly a travelogue for the ear, and the short bites make it ideal for a busy day running errands. J.A.S.
