BURGLAR WHO TRADED TED WILLIAMS, THE

by | Read by Joe Mantegna

Mystery & Suspense • 3 hrs. • Abridged • © 1994

Bookseller and burglar Bernie Rhodenbarr is trying to fight the urge to break into an apartment he knows is empty. This leads him to a different but somehow connected break-in, a dead body in a locked room and prize baseball cards. Joe Mantegna does a wonderful job reading this amusing whodunit. The abridgment is quite good although the musical interludes obviously bridge the missing parts. However, the plot is easy to follow, and the idiosyncrasies of the characters are not sacrificed.
