If you can accept a newly crowned Queen Elizabeth I as an amateur sleuth, you may enjoy this well-researched Elizabethan murder mystery. Commendably, Davina Porter almost succeeds at making the dignified Elizabeth, with her imperious voice, a believable detective. Lesser characters are also depicted well.
