Motley Fool books, audios, and other resources are mainstays in the financial self-help genre. The authors' simple advice--save regularly, spend sensibly, and manage your own stocks or funds--can be followed by anyone, so the challenge with this type of program is how to nudge listeners to make a plan and stick to it. In this regard, the program is a winner. With a combination of irreverent writing and smart-aleck reading, the programs sets up an "everyman against the odds" theme that will provoke a lot of people to develop some hope, and maybe some determination or competitiveness. Though its success stories seem stronger than the strategies provided, this is a good, basic program for anyone needing a friendly nudge to get serious about managing money.
