MURDER MAKES WAVES

by | Read by Ruth Ann Phimister

Mystery & Suspense • 9 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1997

Southern sisters and super sleuths Mary Alice Crane and Patricia Anne Hollowell head to Destin, Florida, for a beach vacation. The sisters find corpses as they upstage the local police and follow a trail of crooked real-estate deals, giant sea-turtle habitats, and big-money deals to catch a murderer. Ruth Ann Phimister adapts her flexible voice to give each female character a unique tone. She seems to strain a bit for male voices, but it's not distracting. Phimister reads George's many colloquialisms like a native. Phimister's dramatization of this fast-paced, sometimes comical mystery is peopled with colorful characters and charming, witty dialogue.
