Dwyer covers the birth, growth, and legacy of Diaspora, a social networking platform meant to empower users with full control over their privacy rather than exploiting users' privacy. Pete Larkin narrates with a deep and somewhat throaty voice that keeps listeners engaged. He guides listeners through a landscape of technical language and descriptions of college social life and interpersonal tensions with just the right tone. Skillfully using timing and emphasis, he adds a bit of drama to the text. His characterizations have little definition beyond gender, but that isn't problematic as the book clearly identifies whoever is speaking.
