Science author Shermer is a TV show host and skeptic known for his open-mindedness. A good example of his approach is the chapter on hypnosis, a fuzzy borderline phenomenon not explainable by our present knowledge of the brain or its behavior: not science, but upon close examination, not nonsense either.
