KILLERS OF THE KING The Men Who Dared to Execute Charles I

This blend of courtroom drama and political espionage thriller recounts the fates of the men who deposed and killed Charles I. Tim Bruce's brisk pace and chipper tone sometimes seem less than a match for this text. But his voice is more likable than irritating, and the intelligence, understanding, and care he shows in his emphases and modulations, along with his energy and good pacing, make up for any off notes. He acts, rather than simply reads, quotations, providing voices and accents as needed. While his acting lacks nuance and variety of tone, it does enliven the program.
