CARRIER 8: ALPHA STRIKE

Now that the Soviet Union has collapsed, the Chinese have become popular as the bad guys in military techno-thrillers. In this story, they are trying to establish a presence in the South China Sea around Taiwan. This is a solid story distinguished by a wealth of credible detail about naval aviation. Edward Lewis has a clear, youngish voice, and he handles well the brisk military tone of the writing. His character voices are adequate, not a glaring fault as the character development is a bit weak.
