EEYORE HAS A BIRTHDAY

The world of Christopher Robin and Winnie-the-Pooh is a wonderful childlike place, full of play, imagination, and friendship. EEYORE HAS A BIRTHDAY, from WINNIE-THE-POOH, is about Eeyore's disappointment that no one has remembered his birthday, and what Pooh and Piglet do to rectify the situation. Charles Kuralt's strong, low voice, is solid and consistent. His Eeyore is right on the mark--low, despondent, and gloomy--although the other characters are less individualized. And while the story is charming in itself, or as part of the whole book, it is for family listening, and not easily used for beginning readers. W.L.S.
