Sports reporter Nolan Zavoral has written a contemporary biography of Dan Gable, an Olympic athleteturned coach in a sport that dates back to the Greeks--wrestling. The conflict and message of the story come when the boy who always won gets old and finds that his skeletal system has worn out long before its time. Avid audio readers may recognize the familiar voice of Patrick O'Keefe, an announcer with a voice so deep it resonates in his nasal chamber like the low pipe in a church organ. Plenty of conversation in the book gives O'Keefe the chance show his creativity with characters, and the results are clever and successful. J.A.H.
