YEATS IN LOVE

This two-person play, set in the early 1900s, presents the tempestuous love story of the shy Irish poet William Butler Yeats and Maude Gonne, flamboyant and radical organizer for the cause of Irish independence. Rod Beattie and Seana McKenna are enchanting as they read the emotions of the characters and portray the conflicts of the lovers. Beattie's mild voice captures the optimism and uncertainty of the young poet, while McKenna's strong voice rings with the determination of the activist.
