In these days of digital music and its compact devices, it's easy to forget the exciting origins of sound recording and the startling impact the theremin had on the music world. Steve Coulter narrates this fictional account of the instrument's past with a benign and jovial tone, maintaining a consistent voice throughout. This consistency keeps the audiobook on a very level plane--which is ironic, considering the novelty of a theremin's sound--and this plane can be monotonous in audio form. Because of this and the inconsistent narrative drive of the plot, the listener's mind may wander from time to time. This production is best for those interested in this specific topic.
