Such is the case with most fact-based nonfiction audiobooks. The author posits that the gravitational influences of dark matter had a role in pushing a large rocky body, probably a comet, into a collision course with the Earth. If you have any interest in the subject, this is as good an audio presentation as could possibly be done. The science, though, is speculative.
