PARENTING ISN'T FOR COWARDS

by | Read by John McDonough

Contemporary Culture/ Parenting • 7.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1987

Christian psychologist Dobson offers his balanced, compassionate, and conservative views on parenting. John McDonough reads Dobson's advice with a rich, deep, grandfatherly voice that conveys the understanding, patience, and devotion apparent in the author's writing. McDonough's reading is grounded, well paced, and steady, breathing confidence into Dobson's point of view. The book offers advice to parents with children of any age, as well as concrete skills to practice. Most effective is the question-and-answer session at the end of the book. Dobson quotes a lot of scripture to support his parenting theses, and McDonough's oration is such a great match that this comes across as a friendly chat with a preacher, rather than a sermon. H.L.S.
