Listening to Judith Black is a pleasure. Her voice crafts an impressive repertoire of characters from folklore and history--all who leave the world a better place. Black has selected stories with strong heroines to validate and support the girls with whom she talks between the tales. The peasant's daughter (thought to be his son) solves the emperor's riddles and asks for the famous one grain of rice in reward.
