This audiobook is aimed at listeners who are interested in the conflicts that can occur between corporate board members, professional managers, and shareholders. It uses profiles and well-drawn insights to show how such conflicts have played out over the past 90 years. Narrator David Drummond's phrasing and diction make everything clear, and his tone is rich and masculine. But his palette of pitch patterns sounds limited, making the overall performance repetitive. Thus, it falls to the content to hold one's attention, and it does so to great effect because the author is a savvy hedge fund manager who is well versed in the politics of unhappy shareholder initiatives. His descriptions of palace coups and behind-the-scenes scheming provide a valuable glimpse of how power is fought over in these realms. T.W. © AudioFile 2016, Portland, Maine [Published: AUGUST 2016]
