In this fast-moving spy thriller, set principally in the Middle East of the near future, a James Bond-like character plays cat and mouse with a ruthless assassin and an exiled Saddam Hussein. Edward Lewis makes the best of this rather thin material, mostly by keeping it moving. His youthful voice is undistinguished, but his delivery is well focused and free of distractions. He voices characters lightly but consistently, with satisfactory accents for various nationalities. This novel is mostly about what’s going to happen next, and he keeps it working on that level.
