MORE GRIZZLY TALES FOR GRUESOME KIDS

Bill Wallis's presentation of these gory cautionary stories is worthy of applause. The former Royal Shakespearean Company actor's clear, beautifully modulated voice allows the listener to enjoy the narration's vivid descriptions, told with British, Australian, and Scottish accents. Where Wallis shines is when the stories, which all center around a child's misbehavior or poor manners, turn to the characters. The children moan, shriek, whine, and throw tantrums that will delight the audience. The only potential problems concern the British colloquialisms, which some children may not understand, and the vivid and colorful references to bodily functions, which may not appeal to some parents.
