Liam Clancy is the founding member of the popular Irish musical group The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. Clancy narrates his own account of his rise to fame, beginning with his quaint and stoic life in Ireland and moving to his fortunate and tempestuous life in the New York City club and bar scene. Clancy's charming Irish accent is sharply defined, and his storytelling takes on a melodic rhythm. His sense of humor is magnetic throughout, and a bit of his wild side comes through as he describes his relationships with his benefactor, Diane Guggenheim, and Greenwich Village artist friends, capturing the music scene of the time.
