Karen Ziemba returns to narrate another Ali Reynolds mystery. In this one, Reynolds has a special incentive to solve a murder--her own father has been accused of the crime. The good, hard-working people in this story have become embroiled in a Ponzi scheme. The plot is revealed through a third-person point of view that unfolds with little embellishment. Ziemba adopts the same approach. She presents the perpetrators as ordinary folks, which makes the extreme measures they go to in order to advance their goals and cover their tracks even more striking. Ziemba sets a strong pace from the beginning, and events get underway quickly. J.E.M. © AudioFile 2016, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE 2016]
