FRANCIE

Francie is a kind-hearted girl living in the hard, cruel world of Noble, Alabama, where prejudice is rampant and living is difficult. Sisi Aisha Johnson's narration, delivered in a soft, innocent voice, makes Francie enter listeners' hearts and draws them close to this young heroine, who is trying to understand the unfair world she lives in. Humble to the core, Francie sees her friend in dire trouble for something he didn't do, and she tries to help him, although she herself will get in trouble for doing so. With a sweet and realistic Southern accent, Johnson tells the story with good timing and appropriate tone, bringing the listener back to an era that should have never been. D.L.M.
